Dr. JP Donohoe is a highly qualified and experienced GP.
He is a native of Limerick, and attended Monaleen National School and Ard Scoil Ris Secondary School. He studied medicine in University College Cork and on qualifying as a doctor he was awarded a position on the Mid Western GP Training Scheme.
During his GP training he completed a Diploma in Child Health, and a certificate in Family Planning. He was awarded membership of The Irish College of General Practitioners in 2004.
He developed a special interest in sports medicine and completed a Masters Degree in Sport & Exercise Medicine in University College Cork in 2004. He was subsequently awarded membership of The Faculty of Sports Medicine. He has worked as the Munster Rugby Team Doctor since 2009. In 2012 he became a Fellow of the Faculty of Sport & Exercise Medicine of the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland.
In 2011 he was appointed adjunct senior clinical lecturer in University of Limerick Medical School and continues to teach graduate entry medical students.
